George Wyllie at the Scottish Parliament

As part of this year’s Festival of Politics a selection of artworks by RGI artist George Wyllie MBE (1921-2012) are on show in the gardens of the Scottish Parliament.

Wyllie’s philosophy of creativity and influence on younger generations of Scotland’s artists will be the subject for discussion at a free event on Friday 17 August.  The panel will include George’s daughter Louise Wyllie; film maker, writer and curator Murray Grigor; Neil Baxter, Royal Incorporation of Architects in Scotland; artist Roddy Buchanan; and David Harding, artist and founder of the Environmental Art course at Glasgow School of Art.

This event will be followed by optional viewing of Wyllie’s sculptures in the Parliament garden with Murray Grigor.
